SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A local organization hosted an event to show gratitude towards the mothers in the Springfield community. In its 4th year, 'Families Against Violence' honored five women who have not only shown to be great mothers, but also influential community leaders. The event, at the Bay Area Neighborhood Council was a reminder of the strength and resilience of mothers, especially those who have experienced loss. It also highlighted the important role that mothers play in our society and the need to recognize and support them. "Mothers are going through a lot, they been through a lot you know so we want to make sure they are honored and make sure we let them know that we do care," said Families Against Violence Executive Director, Francena Brown.
