SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Sioux Falls restaurant chain opened a new store this week. Inside the old Fuddruckers building you'll now find Jacky's Burrito Express. "She always wanted to be close to a school just because, like some kids have open lunch, or offices are close to it, a lot of more businesses are down on 41st, so she always looked for a good position here and this came about and they offered her a good deal and she got it," Jacky's daughter Evelyn Haro said. The restaurant has a long list of faithful customers who've dined at Jacky's for years. "Since they opened. So I believe they opened the first one it was in downtown– I got to say 14 years ago. So yeah. And I love it," longtime customer Debora Natareno said. And while the amazing food keeps them coming back, customers also love the authenticity. "They have authentic Guatemalan food and I'm from Guatemala so I love the taste and my country so I'm really happy we have a place to go eat," Natareno said. Huron police say threat to public is over While Jackie's other locations are full-service, the family is trying a different model at this new restaurant. "So you order at the counters, we bring the food to you and then the customers pick up their trays and take care of that part," Haro said. And while people often associate Guatemalan food with being spicy, Jacky's menu caters to many taste buds. "There's a little bit spice. There's some tart, sweet, sour. There's a little bit of everything for everybody," Haro said. And now there's one more spot to experience all of those flavors. As they open the new location, Jacky's is gearing up to close its Empire mall location in September.
