PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) announced that they are set to celebrate the 8th annual Quahog Week.
From May 11 to 18, the event will celebrate the cultural and economic importance of Rhode Island’s clams.
The week also brings awareness and demand for the local seafood and Rhode Island’s seafood demand.
Men and women who harvest quahogs will also be celebrated, as well as the local food industry that makes them available to Rhode Island residents.
