Anderson police investigates stabbing at gas station

ANDERSON, Ind. -- A 36-year-old man was stabbed at a gas station in Anderson on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a news release from the Anderson Police Department, officers responded to a stabbing around 5:09 p.m. on Wednesday at a gas station on Meridian Street.
When officers arrived on the scene, they located the man who was stabbed sitting in a vehicle near the intersection of 19th and Jackson Street. The release said the man was transported to an Indianapolis hospital and remains in serious condition.

A preliminary investigation uncovered that the 36-year-old man pulled into the parking lot of the gas station when he was approached by a 29-year-old man. An altercation reportedly occurred between the two men and the 29-year-old man reportedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the 36-year-old man.
The 29-year-old man reportedly left the scene before police arrived. Officials said that no arrests have been made at this time and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
