MARINETTE, Wis. (WFRV) - Officials with the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay say that over 100 local students in the Rising Phoenix program will earn an associate degree before getting their high school diploma. UW-Oshkosh students demonstrate their support for Palestine amidst conflict with Israel According to a release from UWGB, the Rising Phoenix program is a ground-breaking collaboration between UWGB and various high schools throughout Wisconsin. The Wisconsin high schools with graduating Rising Phoenix students are as follows: GEAR UP Rising Phoenix high schools Ashland Green Bay East Green Bay Preble Green Bay West Green Bay Southwest Milwaukee Public Schools: Alexander Hamilton Milwaukee Public Schools: Bradley Tech Milwaukee Public Schools: Riverside University Shawano Sheboygan North Sheboygan South Sheboygan Warriner Wausau East  Wausau West Rising Phoenix high schools Green Bay John Dewey Academy of Learning Luxemburg-Casco Marinette  Manitowoc Lincoln Mishicot Two Rivers This spring saw reportedly the largest class of associate degreed students through the Rising Phoenix program and once these students graduate high school, they are eligible to begin their college journey as third-year students. Educators ride in style in Corvettes to lunch for Teacher Appreciation Day in Green Bay Officials say 144 students completed the program with 83% (114) of those students graduating from both college and high school this spring as they will be earning an associate of Arts & Sciences degree at the 2024 Spring Commencement on Saturday, May 11. UWGB says it will have a Rising Phoenix celebration at its Marinette Campus from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 9.
