(NewsNation) — A security guard shot outside rapper Drake’s Toronto mansion has been taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to police. Toronto Police Operations said they responded to a shooting in the area of Bayview Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East at around 2:09 a.m. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. Police say they have video of the shooting but are not providing a description of the suspect or the getaway vehicle at this time, Inspector Paul Krawczyk, of Toronto's Integrated Gun and Gang taskforce, said in a news conference. The shooting comes as Drake remains embroiled in a beef with rapper Kendrick Lamar, with both artists exchanging diss tracks, making accusations of illegal and immoral behavior. Krawczyk said the police "cannot speak to a motive at this time," and could not confirm whether Drake was home at the time of the shooting. Police remain on the scene as officers canvass the neighborhood, speaking to witnesses and seeking additional video footage, Krawczyk said. The area where the shooting occurred is known as The Bridle Path, an upscale neighborhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, comprising multimillion-dollar mansions. This is a developing story.
