New Bedford shooting victim dies; suspect to face murder charge

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) — The New Bedford man who was shot in the area of Austin and County streets last week has died.
The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says 60-year-old Ronald Sinclair was shot around 2:30 p.m. on April 29. First responders rushed Sinclair to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries on May 3.
BACKGROUND: 1 injured in New Bedford shooting
The alleged shooter, 38-year-old Christopher Smith of New Bedford, was arrested soon after the shooting in the backyard of a home on Chestnut Street.
Smith is set to be arraigned Tuesday in New Bedford District Court on a new murder charge.
