Columbus and Central Ohio Weather QUICK WEATHER FORECAST: Tonight: Mostly cloudy, showers & few rumbles before midnight, low 61 Tuesday: Mixed clouds early, storms in PM, some strong/severe, high 78 Wednesday: Mostly sunny, chance of night storms, high 82 Thursday: AM t-showers possible, high 75 Friday: Chance of showers, cooler, high 63 FORECAST DISCUSSION: Good Monday Evening, It has been a damp and seasonal day today with light to moderate rain showers around and highs near normal today. Tonight we will continue with light rain showers, and a stray rumble of thunder expected with mostly cloudy skies later and lows in the lower 70s. Tuesday will be an interesting day, as we will see temps surge into the upper 70s to near 80 in spots, with showers and storms forming to our west and moving toward our area in the afternoon to evening hours. The Storm Prediction Center has increased the threat in parts of our area to an "Enhanced Risk" level 3/5 for strong to severe storms, with the rest of our area under a "Slight Risk" level 2/5. The main threats will be wind and hail, but an isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out later in the day, especially in the area that is under the enhanced risk. That threat will wane around midnight or just after across our area into early Wednesday morning. Wednesday we should have a relatively decent break in the activity during the day, with a chance of showers and storms into the evening hours. This threat will lift from our southwest into our area by Wednesday evening and into the early overnight hours. Storms should start to weaken, but the risk of at least rain and storms will persist through the first half of the day on Thursday. Highs on Wednesday will be in the lower 80s, and highs will remain in the mid 70s for Thursday. The front will push east Thursday night, with a chance of showers and cooler weather on the backside for Friday. Highs on Friday will only be in the lower to mid 60s with a chance of showers. Temps will cool off Friday night with lows dropping to the mid 40s at night. Expect sunshine to return on Saturday for a period, before a quick moving front drops down late Saturday with a chance of showers overnight into Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon with some clearing, and a west to southwest flow behind the front, expect highs back into the upper 60s. We still can't rule out a stray showers nearby on Monday with the frontal boundary still nearby and highs on Monday under mixed clouds in the lower 70s, or right around normal for this time of the year. -Dave
