FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- Jeff Struecker stayed calm during the Battle of Mogadishu, so calm that his fellow Army Rangers asked him about it afterward.
The battle was the deadliest day for the U.S. military since Vietnam and was later chronicled in the 2002 film "Black Hawk Down."
Struecker credited his faith for his combat demeanor. Sharing that faith led him to become an Army chaplain, which led to his current civilian role: pastor.
Struecker said he now shares his faith to help others through their more figurative battles.
On Monday, May 20, Struecker will share his message at the Parkview Mirro Center on behalf of The Edge Fort Wayne, described as a group targeting business leaders to positively influence their company's culture and ethics in an impactful way.
Admission to the fundraising breakfast is free, but seats need to be reserved in advance by following this link.
