BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — Comic Realms recently celebrated a holiday all about action, latex costumes, and super powers — National Free Comic Book Day! Free Comic Book Day is celebrated once every year on the first Saturday in May. For one day only, publishers offer a select number of comics that devoted fans can snag for free in participating stores. Comic Realms in Bismarck celebrated by offering five free comic books to each shopper. Other shops in the location (Chakra Realms, Cafe Realms and Rhythm records music cafe) all had specials going on as well. Mythic Emporium hosting Free Comic Book Day Lesley Frohlich, owner of Comic Realms, Cafe Realms and Chakra Realms, said "I love this day because it brings together such a community of people. It's such a great family event and it's a good way to get everybody interested in reading." Even if you missed free comic book day, don't hesitate to check out Comic Realms or any of the other realm stores in the bottom of the Anderson building at 106 N Mandan Street.
