HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The 2nd Annual Queen Track Classic took place at Hermitage High School today and Olympic track star, Queen Harrison Clay, returned to her Henrico County roots. On Saturday, May 4 at 8:30 a.m., the Queen Track Classic kicked off at Hermitage High School, located at 8301 Hungary Springs Road in Henrico. 8News crews were on the scene to capture the scenery. Field events began as early as 8:30 a.m. and running events started at 9:30 a.m. The top three finalists received medals for their place. The outstanding Olympian and Hermitage High School graduate, Queen Harrison Clay hosted this year's event, along with a few other special guests. Lashawn Merritt, who is also a Virginian Olympian was present at the Queen Track Classic helping Clay present medals to athletes. At the event, there were exciting track and field competitions and opportunities to network with track and field athletes in the community.
