ASHEBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — The Asheboro Police Department is investigating after a teen was shot by another teen near a local park on Friday night. Police say that a 16-year-old boy was a passenger in a vehicle and was shot in the jaw by another 16-year-old boy who was standing outside of the vehicle in the area of North Asheboro Park off of Canoy Drive at around 9:30 p.m. on Friday. Police say they are currently searching for the teen suspect. There is no further information available at this time.
