WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - There will be several road closures in Westfield on Saturday for the Flat Fast 5K. Donation drive for Homeward Vets Organization at Stanley Park in Westfield Westfield's Flat Fast 5K is America's fastest 5K, according to their website. The race will start on the South Lot of Westfield State University and runners will finish on Elm Street in downtown Westfield. There will be several awards and prizes following the race, such as the following: Overall Men and Women Finishers: 1st Place – $300 2nd Place – $200 3rd Place – $100 Winners of the Men’s and Women’s Age Group Winners 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+ 1st Place – $100 2nd Place – $50 3rd Place – $25 Westfield Resident Men and Women 1st Place – $100 2nd Place – $50 3rd Place – $25 According to the Westfield Police Department, Elm Street will be closed from Franklin Street to School St from 7 am to 5 pm. The race begins at 1:00 p.m. on Western Ave from South Lot, east down to the library. The road will reopen as the race moves along eastbound. The race route will be closed, including the side roads leading to the main race route. It is being urged for the motoring public to use another route when traveling during these times.
