WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A donation drive for the Homeward Vets Organization will be held at Stanley Park in Westfield on Saturday. Ribbon cutting for Elm Street Plaza in Westfield According to Stanley Park, Homeward Vets, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that helps provide home furnishings to previously homeless veterans who are now transitioning into permanent housing and rely solely on contributions and donations. The organization is seeking to collect household items for the veterans for their new permanent homes. Some of the items they are looking to collect include: Dinnerware Cookware Small appliances: Toasters, microwaves, toaster ovens, and coffee makers Cash donations are also being accepted and will be used to buy gift cards for Big Y and Stop & Shop for groceries. The donation drive will be held in the Asian Garden parking lot on Margaret Lane across from the Veterans' Memorial at Stanley Park from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
