BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- An evening of games, food and drinks is set to take place next week. On May 10, the Junior League of Bakersfield is hosting it's inaugural 'Bunco & Bubbles' fundraiser event. Alyshia Manning and Melanie Schroedter, with the Junior League of Bakersfield, joined 17 News at Noon. The event will have many different attractions for people of all ages, organizers say. "We will have a mimosa bar, grazing table, and a wine wall, where you can get a mystery bottle," said Alyshia Manning. Manning says there will also be a silent auction for those at the event. Bunco & Bubbles will feature plenty of bunco, and is an event that the Junior League hopes to keep going in the future. Christina Scrivner asks judge to keep Supervisor Scrivner away from all four children: Docs This event is purely dedicated to the support of women and children in the Kern County community, says Schroedter. "Every ticket that we sell during bunco next Friday, will go towards sponsoring a child for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library," said Schroedter. "We are really excited." Sponsorship for a child in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library means you will be helping a child receive a book every month for a whole year. The inaugural event will be held at the Junior League Community Center, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Watch the video in the player above for the full interview.
