(CNN)– The average wealth gap between white families and Black and hispanic families topped one million dollars in 2022.
That is according to a new report from the Urban Institute.
According to the research, the average wealth of white families was over 1.3 million dollars.
That is compared to the average of 227 thousand dollars for hispanic families and 211 thousand dollars for black families.
The report cities differences in earnings among races and genders as well as disparities when it comes to saving for retirement and emergencies for the wealth gap.
