RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- We will see mostly sunny skies across Central Virginia today and it will be a hot day with highs near 90, but that is not near the record which is 94 set in 1974. Mainly clear skies will be with us tonight and it will be comfortable with lows in the lower 60s. Tuesday will feature partly sunny skies and it will be a very warm day with highs in the upper 80s. There is the chance for a few isolated thunderstorms during the late afternoon and evening. Partly sunny skies will return for Wednesday with highs in the middle 80s. Thursday will feature mostly sunny skies and it will remain warm with highs again in the middle 80s. Friday will also be a warm day with highs near 85 under partly sunny skies. Looking ahead to the upcoming weekend a weather system will approach the region and that could bring us some scattered showers and storms otherwise we will see a mixture of sun and clouds to partly sunny skies. It will remain warm with highs around 80 if not the lower 80s.
