CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A driver died after being ejected during a rollover crash in east Charlotte overnight, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Officers responded to a vehicle crash in the 10900 block of Albemarle Road at around 12:33 a.m. on Sunday. There, officers located a severely damaged 2008 Toyota Highlander and 31-year-old Jared Jamer Sibby.
Paramedics transported Sibby to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation indicates that Sibby was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control of his vehicle. Officials said the vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, overturned multiple times, resulting in Sibby being ejected from the car.
Nobody else was in the car, and no other injuries were reported.
