NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A portion of Interstate 40 has reopened following a derailment, and the evacuation status in the area has changed. The McKinley County Fire Department said westbound I-40 at mile marker 126 is open to traffic after a train derailed near the Arizona-New Mexico border. However, eastbound traffic is still closed. Evacuations have been lifted, and authorities are still monitoring the area. They stated, that right now, there isn't any concerning air quality.
