NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A portion of Interstate 40 has reopened following a derailment, and the evacuation status in the area has changed. The McKinley County Fire Department said westbound I-40 at mile marker 126 is open to traffic after a train derailed near the Arizona-New Mexico border. However, eastbound traffic is still closed. Evacuations have been lifted, and authorities are still monitoring the area. They stated, that right now, there isn't any concerning air quality. Albuquerque man, arrested for 4th DWI, asks to return to work as bartender "We thank the public for their patience and will continue to post updates on the McKinley County Fire and Rescue Facebook page," reads a release from officials.
