IREDELL CO., N.C. – A traffic stop in Iredell County led to an arrest and the seizure of drugs worth roughly half a million dollars.  Deputies arrested 43-year-old Hector Jaoquin Iglesias on Wednesday, April 24th. He was pulled over on I-77 for a traffic violation. The sheriff’s office said the deputy noticed inconsistencies in his travel plans and other indicators of criminal activity. Canine Connie alerted deputies to the presence of drugs. During a search of Iglesias’ car, they found five pounds of cocaine, 25 pounds of marijuana, and seven pounds of THC edibles. Officials said the drugs seized are valued at an estimated $500,000. Iglesias was charged with the following: Felony Trafficking Cocaine, 2 counts Felony Trafficking Marijuana, 2 counts Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver a Controlled Substance, 2 counts Felony Maintaining a Vehicle for a Controlled Substance Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Iglesias previously served six years in prison for conspiracy to sell over 66 pounds of cocaine in Palm Beach, Florida. He is being held at the Iredell County Detention Center on a $950,000 bond.
