Fatal autopedestrian collision leaves 2 dead on Morrison Dr.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - The Charleston Police Department has closed Morrison Dr. between Harris and Cooper St. following a fatal auto-pedestrian collision.
Officials confirm the incident is being investigated as a hit-and-run with two fatalities. Officers received the report around 8:32 a.m. but the incident time is not yet determined.
Officers ask citizens to avoid the area while emergency personnel are on the scene.
The Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating. CPD says it is unknown when roadways will reopen.
The Charleston County Coroner's Office is on the scene.
