RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Today will be the much better day out of the weekend with sunshine and above average temperatures returning to the area. Today we will see mostly sunny skies and winds will now blow out of the south ushering in warmer air. High temperatures this afternoon will reach the low to mid 80s. Tonight, clear skies continue, and overnight lows drop to near 60. Tomorrow will be an even warmer day with high temperatures reaching near 90! Sunny skies will stay with us throughout the day. The warm conditions continue into Tuesday with high temperatures in the upper 80s. Mostly sunny skies will transition to partly sunny as our next weather system approaches. The risk of isolated thunderstorms is with us by the afternoon and evening hours for Tuesday. Scattered showers and storms continue into Wednesday, and it will be a touch cooler with highs still above average near the middle 80s. Thursday now looks dry with partly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid 80s. By the end of the week our chance of rain showers and storms moves back in for late in the day Friday. Hight temperatures will also drop down to near 80. The start of next weekend looks to start off wet, but finish with partly sunny skies for Sunday.
