'Hometown' Project type: scripted show Roles: Morgan (lead, male, 18-35) Average hourly rate: $67 Casting locations: Norfolk and Virginia Beach Filming dates: May 15 through 19 According to Backstage, 'Hometown' will follow the everyday lives of a friend group in a small town. Some of them are home "by choice," some "by force" -- and "some [are] returning to see how nothing has changed at all." Morgan, a leading male role, is a truck driver being asked to leave his small town. He's described as "a bit comedic" and "go-with-the-flow." 'Under My Skin' Project type: feature film Roles: Ash (lead, female, 20-35) Michael (lead, male, 25-35) Sierra (supporting, female, 25-35) Joel (supporting, male, 20-35) Theo (supporting, male, 18-35) Frank (supporting, male, 40-65) Average hourly rate: $12 Casting locations: Lynchburg and Richmond Filming dates: June 15 through July 18 According to Backstage, 'Under My Skin' is described as a horror film with thriller elements. Brothers Joel and Michael and their wives, Ash and Sierra, visit the cabin of their recently deceased father, Frank. Tensions flare as they cannot agree on what to do with the place. Domestic issues clash with paranormal elements as it quickly becomes apparent that they are not alone in this cabin. Most of the cast is still listed on Backstage as uncast at the time of reporting. The story outlines their transition into the adult world as they face various challenges. The opportunities in this casting call are backgrounds and extras. Interested actors can either apply to be a football player or one of several children attending a bible study during a scene in the show. Both have additional ethnicity requirements. 'Helena's Song' Project type: short film Roles: Eli (lead, male, 55-75) Helena (supporting, female, 55-75) Average hourly rate: $21 Casting locations: Richmond Filming dates: According to Backstage, 'Helena's Song' is a horror film following Eli and his wife Helena, who is battling an illness. As Helena's condition worsens, Eli must grapple with both the compounding grief of his wife's eventual death and several "strange occurrences." Eli is described as a "nurturing and caring husband" who spends most of his time tending to his wife. He is fond of cooking, fishing, feeding local ducks and listening to his wife play her flute. Helena is described as a woman who has been sick for quite some time but has come to terms with that fact. Her illness has sapped most of her energy. She used to love playing the flute and has recently started doing so again as "a last effort of clinging on to a life she used to have." Neither role has any ethnicity requirements. 'Fair Rain' Project type: scripted show Roles: Community (background extra, 18-70) NG Militia (background extra, 20-50) Average hourly rate: Not available Casting locations: Woodbridge Filming dates: Various, beginning in late March and ending in mid-May According to Backstage, 'Fair Rain' is a dramatic thriller that will take place in an apocalyptic or dystopian world. The opportunities in this casting call are backgrounds and extras. 'Community' actors are expected to have beginner-level experience with overall fitness, running and stunts. The 'NG Militia,' described as a 'formidable militia,' requires beginner-level weapons training with firearms, overall fitness, running and stunts.
