HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Mayor Joshua A. Garcia and Holyoke Conservation and Sustainability Director Yoni Glogower are set to partake in an observance of Arbor Day at Wistariahurst on Friday, April 26th at 1 p.m. Elms College’s online nursing program ranked one of the top in U.S. by Forbes Advisor Sarah Greenleaf of the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, along with a dedicated crew, will undertake the ceremonial planting of a tree on the grounds of Wistariahurst. Mayor Garcia will read an Arbor Day proclamation during the event. Arbor Day, an annual event celebrated across the nation, highlights the importance of trees in our communities and encourages environmental stewardship. This tree-planting initiative underscores Holyoke's commitment to preserving its natural heritage and enhancing its urban landscape. The public is invited to join Mayor Garcia, Director Glogower, and other community leaders at Wistariahurst to mark this special day and contribute to the city's green initiatives.
