BLUFFTON, Ind. (WANE) - Staff at Bluffton High School discovered a student had a firearm and ammunition with them at school Wednesday. Sometime around noon, administrators were told a student may have a firearm, according to a statement from the superintendent of the Bluffton-Harrison Metropolitan School District. Staff worked with the school resource officer (SRO) to find the student and conduct what was described in the statement as an appropriate search in a secure location. An unloaded firearm was found in the student's bag. Ammunition was then found in the student's locker. "The student was fully cooperative and made no threats or intent to harm anyone in the building," the statement noted. It's unclear what, if any, consequences the student faced.
