Biden to sign foreign aid package for Israel, bill to ban TikTok

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WLNE) –A major foreign aid bill is now on its way to President Joe Biden’s desk for his signature.
The Senate passed legislation Tuesday that would provide $95 billion dollars of foreign aid to Ukraine and Israel.
The bill would also force TikTok’s China based-parent company ByteDance to sell the social media platform, under the threat of the ban.
The revised legislation gives the company nine months to sell the app, plus a possible three-month extension if a sale is in progress.
Biden is expected to sign the bill into law today, and his administration is also preparing a new aid package for Ukraine that is expected to be worth about one billion dollars.
Administration officials have indicated that the U.S. will likely send long-range missile systems to Ukraine for the first time.
The package is also expected to include more desperately needed munitions for Ukraine; that includes air defense and artillery ammunition, Bradley fighting vehicles, demolition, and weaponry.
