ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A man has been accused of forcing his way into a woman's home on Scrantom Street and robbing her.
The incident occurred on April 18. Officers said the victim's neighbor, 37-year-old Steven Narvaez, came to her home asking to use the phone.
At some point, it was alleged Narvaez forced his way into the home, pinned the victim against a wall with scissors held to her throat, demanded money, and threatened to rape her. Investigators said he took cash from her purse and left. The victim was not injured.
Officers arrested Narvaez and took him to the Monroe County Jail. He was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery, and petit larceny.
He was arraigned in Rochester City Court Tuesday morning and was released from custody.
