(KRON) – Three people were arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence in the San Francisco Police Department’s Traffic Unit DUI saturation patrol on April 20.  According to SFPD, 22 traffic stops were conducted and 10 citations were issued. Two of the citations were given to unlicensed drivers. One of the unlicensed drivers was arrested for a warrant.  4 drivers arrested for DUI, 25 cited in Santa Rosa checkpoint The DUI saturation patrol occurred on Saturday from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. According to SFPD, crashes involving an impaired driver can be reduced by up to 20 percent when well-publicized DUI checkpoints and DUI patrols are conducted routinely. SFPD reminds drivers caught driving impaired can expect the impact of a DUI arrest to include jail time, fines, fees, DUI classes and other expenses that can exceed $10,000.
