Good morning! Happy Friday! Today will be drier and not as chilly as yesterday, but temperatures will still be below average. The weekend? Let's call it a 25-75 weekend with 25% of it featuring some rain. FUN FACT: The hottest day on record for the month of April was 48 years ago today. On April 19, 1976, the high temperature was an unbelievable 98! There was actually a pretty warm stretch that month with highs 80° or warmer from April 16 through the 20th. How rare is 98°? Providence (since 1904) has only hit 98° 48 times...usually in June, July and August, but never in May and only once in April on this day in 1976. If we can get a little more in the way of sun today, highs could sneak up to hear 60. TONIGHT We'll have mainly cloudy skies tonight with a few showers around this evening. Overnight lows will be in the mid 40s. A more widespread rain arrives by late in the night. TOMORROW Widespread rain will be around through much of the morning on Saturday.... That rain should be winding down by around mid-day. Then, we'll see increasing amounts of sunshine.
