Madison County Sheriff: Elementary school student accused of Terroristic Threathening

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – An elementary school student is facing Terroristic Threatening charges after a threat made by the student to bring a firearm to school, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
In a Facebook post, the Sheriff’s Office said the Glenn Marshall Elementary student returned to school after a “disciplinary action” Wednesday (4/17), and “made statements to shoot subjects in the school today (Thursday, 4/18).
The post says Sgt. Paul Lay met with the student and their guardian, and was told the threat was a joke.
The Sheriff’s Office also said there was no danger to the students and staff at the school.
However, the student, a juvenile, was charged with Terroristic Threatening 2nd Degree, and further disciplinary action will be handled by Madison County Schools, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
