First Lady Jill Biden plans to stop in Aurora this weekend to promote the White House Initiative on Women’s Health Research. First Lady Jill Biden speaks next to Colorado Gov. On Saturday at noon, she is scheduled to speak and then take part in a roundtable discussion at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. President Joe Biden announced the launch of the women’s health research initiative in November, led by the first lady and the White House Gender Policy Council. During his State of the Union address, Biden called on Congress to invest $12 billion in research in this area. “Despite making up more than half the population, women have historically been understudied and underrepresented in health research,” according to a White House news release. Biden will begin her trip in Saint Paul before heading to Colorado. The Biden press team didn’t immediately respond to a request for more details about Jill Biden’s activities during her stop here.
