City of Rochester sees tourism boost during Eclipse, according to Bloomberg

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The City of Rochester was listed as one of the top cities that saw a boost in tourism thanks to the Total Solar Eclipse, according to Bloomberg.
According to Bloomberg, Rochester saw a 16.1% increase in tourism-related spending between Friday and the day of the Eclipse.
However, the data from Bloomberg notes that Buffalo and Syracuse made the top five in terms of a tourism boost. Buffalo saw the biggest increase with a 32.1% increase and Syracuse had a 28.4% increase.

Rochester did not make it into the top five — it was ranked #9 on the graph below Austin, Texas, Cleveland, Ohio, and Burlington, Vermont. San Antonio, Texas, and Louisville, Kentucky are higher than Rochester, despite those two cities being outside the path of totality.
According to New York's Director of Interagency Operations, 10 of New York's state parks reached full capacity while the Department of Transportation said the state experienced moderate to heavy traffic. Governor Hochul said that almost one million people came to New York's parks between April
