HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Henrico County Police Division is investigating a deadly crash involving a motorcycle and a sedan that occurred yesterday. At 5:05 p.m. on Monday, April 8, police responded to a crash at the intersection of Libbie Avenue and Fitzhugh Avenue between a motorcycle and a sedan. Upon their arrival, officers found a motorcycle driver -- now identified as 26-year-old Mahir Hiteshkumar Desai of Henrico County -- in critical condition. According to police, Desai was then taken to the hospital where he died of injuries from the crash. The driver of the sedan was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The police investigation determined that Desai was driving north on Libbie Avenue when the driver of the sedan tried to turn left from westbound Fitzhugh Avenue heading south on Libbie Avenue. When the sedan entered the intersection, Desai was unable to avoid colliding and hit the driver's side of the sedan. Investigators are still working to figure out whether or not speed was a factor in the crash or not.
