Clarksville announces interim after cutting ties with town manager

terminate its contract with longtime manager Kevin Baity. He was hired in 2016, and his latest contract was set to expire at the end of 2027.Glen Adams has been tapped to help with the transition, LPM News previously reported. He started last week.According to a news release, Adams has more than 25 years of leadership experience in local government, public administration and organizational management.He most recently served as an interim manager in Homewood, Alabama, where he oversaw a more than $128 million budget and helped usher the city into a council-manager form of government.He’s also served as interim city manager in Martinsville, Virginia, and interim town manager in Purcellville, Virginia."It is a privilege to step into the role of interim town manager and serve the Clarksville community during this important transition," Adams said, according to the release. He said he’ll focus on steady, transparent and effective leadership for the town, which he said has a “rich history and an exciting future.”National firm Strategic Government Resources is leading the search for the permanent town manager. There isn’t a timeline established for that yet, according to the release.“The Town remains committed to identifying a highly qualified permanent Town Manager who will build upon Clarksville's strengths and help guide the community's continued growth and success,” according to the release.In his 10 years as town manager, Baity was involved in major redevelopment efforts, such as the ongoing buildout of a brand new downtown.Coverage of Southern Indiana is funded, in part, by Samtec Inc., the Hazel Walter T.
