Police Lights (Getty Images)FREMONT–(KFOR/News Release June 8)–One person is in jail following a weekend standoff at a Fremont home. The Nebraska State Patrol said in a release to KFOR News that Fremont Police responded to a domestic disturbance around 11pm Saturday at a home in north Fremont, w here officers found out the suspect may have had a gun and there were children and a woman inside the home.  Several attempts to contact the people inside were not successful and the suspect barricaded the door. NSP says their SWAT Team responded at the request of Fremont Police.  Crisis negotiators also responded and around 5:30am Sunday, the suspect came out of the house on his own and was taken into custody without any incident.  The woman was found with minor injuries and taken to a Fremont hospital, while the children were found safely in the home.  Several guns were found inside. Arturo Alvarez, 28, was arrested and turned over to Fremont Police and put in the Dodge County Jail for domestic assault, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony, and obstructing a peace officer. ...read more read less
