Santa Clara County opens vote centers ahead of June 2 primary

California’s June 2 primary election is less than two weeks away, and Santa Clara County’s Registrar of Voters already opened a number of vote centers for people to drop off their mail ballots, vote in person or get assistance.
San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan, who is a candidate for governor, was a
mong the first to casting their ballots in San Jose.
“Just voted with my family, it’s the first person day of person voting, you can vote in person in California between now and election day, just make sure you get you ballots in by June 2,” he said.
Santa Clara County opened up 24 vote centers Saturday, with dozens more coming soon.
Matt Moreles with the country’s registrar of voters says all the vote centers will have staff available to answer any questions.
So far, the county has received about 80,000 ballots back.
