(BCN) -- A motorist died Monday morning in a crash on Interstate 780 in Benicia, according to the California Highway Patrol. The solo collision was reported about 7:45 a.m. in the westbound direction of I-780 near the Southampton Road onramp, where a Silver Toyota Rav4 hit a guardrail. (KRON4) Th e driver, the only person in the vehicle, was a man in his 20s. He died at the scene. An investigation is underway, but officials said unsafe speed appears to be the cause of the crash.
