(KRON) — Police shot a man on the 900 block of Sandra Court in South San Francisco Monday at about 5:10 a.m. Two officers with the South San Francisco Police Department initially responded to the area for a report of a man on drugs who was wielding a knife and threatening to kill himself. The off icers arrived and found a man in his 20s matching the suspect’s description. Husband shoots wife to death in Redwood City, fails suicide attempt: PD Officers attempted to calm the man down, SSFPD said. Although he initially followed officers’ orders, he suddenly brandished a concealed knife. “Officers deployed less lethal force and ordered the male to drop the knife,” SSFPD said. “The Taser was ineffective, and the subject ignored further commands before advancing at officers. More commands were given to drop the knife, however the male charged towards officers with the knife raised.” 4 men shot in San Jose, 1 dead: PD Both officers opened fire on the man. Officers immediately gave emergency medical treatment and the man was taken to a local trauma center where he remains in critical condition. No other people were injured in the shooting. The South San Francisco Police Detective Bureau is investigating the suspect’s actions leading up to the shooting.
