BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — A 19-year-old Indiana University student was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash near a Bloomington, Indiana, intersection Friday, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. At 3:47 p.m. Friday, Monroe County deputies responded to a report of a traff ic crash with serious injuries near the intersection of North Bottom Road and West Maple Grove Road. A 20-year-old man driving a Honda Accord collided with a 19-year-old male IU student riding a bicycle. The cyclist was transported by ambulance to IU Health Bloomington Hospital and is in critical condition. Investigators with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Team responded and are actively investigating the incident. The driver of the Honda Accord remained at the scene and is cooperating.
