Suspect arrested after Northglenn woman found dead near Westminster park

A man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder on Friday after a woman was found dead near Willowbrook Park on Thursday afternoon, Westminster police said.
Annette Marie Valdez, 37, of Northglenn was pronounced dead after “being involved in an incident” in the 12400 block of Delaware St
reet in Westminster, the Adams County Coroner’s Office said Friday.

The cause and manner of her death are still under investigation.
Westminster police were called to the area at 3:30 p.m. Thursday after “reports of a deceased individual,” the agency said on social media.
Department officials did not provide additional information about Valdez’s death, but on Friday announced that Thomas Perales, 38, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder, abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and violence of a protection order related to domestic violence.
Investigators believe Perales and Valdez knew each other, Westminster police said.
