Multivehicle crash on I95 causes delays in Northeast Philadelphia
Dec 06, 2025
A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 caused major delays for drivers in Northeast Philadelphia early Saturday morning.
NBC10 was on the scene the morning of Saturday, December 6, 2025, as police investigated the crash on I-95 at State Road.
Several vehicles were involved, and at least one h
ad its airbags deployed. Portions of the highway could also be seen covered in snow or slush.
At this time, it is unclear if anyone was injured in the crash.
This incident was one of several reported Saturday morning. Another crash happened on I-95 near Academy Road; at least three vehicles were involved. That incident caused delays and traffic. Several drivers were seen turning around on I-95 north to try to get off the ramp, traveling the wrong way, causing more chaos on the roads.
Then another crash happened on I-95 near the Aramingo Avenue exit. More than a dozen vehicles could be seen off at the side of the road as Pennsylvania State Police investigate.
The NBC10 First Alert Weather team is alerting drivers to be careful on the roads as they track freezing drizzle, light snow, and patchy icing across parts of the region.
NBC10 reached out to PennDOT about how the company has prepared the roadways:
“PennDOT crews have been treating I-95 before and during the recent weather event. The department’s primary goal is to keep the roads passable, rather than completely free of ice and snow. PennDOT continues to treat the roadways throughout weather events until precipitation stops and the roads are clear. It’s important to be prepared for varying road conditions—such as snow, ice, slush, and rain—and to drive responsibly and with caution.”
