'Every single kennel is full': Animal shelter in Wisconsin takes in 50+ dogs to start the new year, community urged to help
Jan 06, 2025
(WFRV) - The Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC) is dealing with an increase in the number of dogs they are caring for, right at the start of 2025.
According to a Facebook post from the MADACC, just four days into the new year, the shelter took in 53 new dogs, bringing the total to 146. They say all of their kennels are now full, and staff have to split them in half to make room for more strays.
The post highlights that as the animal control center for Milwaukee County, MADACC doesn't turn away any stray animals, no matter how full they are, showing dedication to helping animals and reuniting them with their owners.
