SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- If you missed opening day at the San Diego International Auto Show, there's still plenty of opportunities to check out the exposition -- maybe even for free. The event has collaborated with the San Diego Blood Bank to give donors some special perks when they give blood. This year, the blood drive is inside the San Diego Convention Center, which is where the auto show takes place. Those who volunteer to donate blood will receive the following incentives: A limited-edition San Diego Auto Show Blood Drive T-shirt (while supplies last) A limited-edition "Saving Lives Together" 40-ounce travel mug Two tickets to get into the auto show "Don’t miss out on the coolest car show in town," stated a spokesperson for the San Diego Blood Bank. "Stop by for the cars and donate blood for people in your community." Those who volunteer, must be at least 17 years old and weigh 110 pounds. Donors are also required to be in general good health. It's suggested that those who attend come hydrated. Appointments for the blood drive can be made online, though walk-ins are also welcome. Officials with the Blood Bank say donors should expect the process to take about an hour. All blood types are needed.
