BOSTON, Mass. (WWLP) - A French Bulldog surrendered by its family is in need of major surgery and the MSPCA is asking for your help. A two-year-old French Bulldog named Jack was surrendered by his owner on November 11 due to housing issues. He was placed in the care of the MSPCA-Angell. The veterinarian team noticed he had hip dysplasia, which was surgically repaired on December 12. But, even after the surgery, Jack’s front left leg is turned 180 degrees, making it unusable and very uncomfortable. He is now in need of a complex surgery where his leg needs to be amputated. The procedure is expected to cost $10,000. “Unfortunately, it’s not an injury that we can fix, so we need to amputate the leg once Jack’s recovered a bit from the first surgery and has the stability needed in his hind legs to move forward,” explained MSPCA-Angell Vice President of Animal Protection, Mike Keiley. “He may also need additional surgery on his hind legs in the future, but right now, our biggest concern is the twisted front leg.” To donate towards Jack's care, visit MSPCA.org.
