Wonderful Life Museum starts National Zuzu's Petals initiative
Dec 13, 2024
SENECA FALLS, N.Y. (WROC) – Another incredible initiative being launched as part of the Wonderful Life Festival weekend is the 'Zuzu's Petals' project.
It's a nod to an emotional scene in the movie 'It's a Wonderful Life' where George Bailey, the main character who is facing a mental health crisis, is reminded of the value of life.
The project invites people nationwide to create Zuzu's Petals or flower like symbols of hope for the museums upcoming expansion.
Organizers say visitors will be able to take a petal or leave one for others. In this way they can provide hope to people they may not even know.

"Zuzu's Petals means hope, and that's the main thing we all need right now in our lifetime. We've been through a lot here the last few years and we need hope. We also need to help other people, and that's the only way we're going to survive is to give of ourselves," Actress who played Zuzu in the film, Karolyn Grimes said.
The museum expansion is set for completion sometime in 2026 for the films 80th anniversary.
The 'It's a Wonderful Life' Festival runs through Sunday, December 15. For more information you can visit the guide on News 8's website here or visit the Wonderful Life Museum website here.
