Staying mild and dry this weekend
Dec 13, 2024
Mild weather sticks around through the weekend with lighter winds. A cold front brings a slight cool down to start next week.
It's been a breezy to windy afternoon for parts of New Mexico, with some wind gusts over 40 mph at times in parts of the state. Cooler air moved into northwest New Mexico while the rest of the state actually saw warmer temperatures, with parts of southeast New Mexico climbing into the 70s. Winds will die down tonight. With calm winds, clear skies, and dry air, temperatures will drop quickly and be very cold again Saturday morning.
High temperatures may be a few degrees cooler Saturday afternoon, but the winds will be light with mostly sunny to sunny skies. Winds pick up a little again on Sunday, but the westerly wind will help to bring in warmer temperatures once again.
A cold front will bring yet another slight drop in temperatures next Monday across the state, but highs will still be above average for the middle of December. Temperatures will stay mild all week long next week, with little fluctuation in day to day highs. Dry weather will also stick around through next week.
