BOYS BASKETBALL: No. 7 Southeast Dominates Columbus Wire to Wire

Courtesy of AlphaMedia USA Lincoln.LINCOLN–(KFOR Dec. 13)–Class A No. 7 Lincoln Southeast boys basketball team managed to jump out to a quick start and didn’t look back in a 74-37 victory Friday night over Columbus at the Prasch Center.
Four Knights scored in double-figures, led by senior guard Mari Shumaker with 15 points. Senior Mike Ngoyi scored 12 points, but left the game before the end of the first half after he scored on a dunk and tweaked what appeared to be an ankle injury. On the next Southeast possession, reserve guard Roman Lambert left the game with an injury to his left ankle. Neither player returned to the game.
Two Southeast reserve players, Josaya Macauley and Je’Shawn McKinney, each added 11 points in the victory. The Knights (2-1) led 20-7 after the first quarter and held a 40-20 advantage at halftime.
Columbus (1-3) had no one score in double-figures, but were led by Quinn Freshour and Barrett Brown, who each scored a team-high eight points.
