Suspect brandished gun in sunglasses robbery, 3 atlarge: police

(KRON) – The string of sunglasses robberies has not subsided in Daly City. The department reported a suspect brandished a weapon during a sunglasses heist at a Daly City store last month, according to the Daly City Police Department.
Police officers were dispatched to the Sunglass Hut inside Macy’s in the Serramonte Center for the theft around 8:11 p.m. on Nov. 21. Officers were informed that three suspects loaded several sunglasses into garbage bags.
Macy’s loss prevention officers recovered a few of the merchandise in a scuffle that escalated to one of the suspects brandishing a firearm, police said. The trio fled in a gray Honda Civic with a getaway driver.

According to DCPD, two of the suspects were all wearing ski masks and dark-colored clothing.
All of the suspects were described as men, two of which were white and the other suspect was Black.
The mass thefts of glasses are not new to the Macy’s in the Serramonte Center. From August to September 2024, more than $26,000 worth of glasses were stolen from the LensCrafters in the Macy’s store.
