Wisconsin man set to face multiple charges after damaging property, submerging vehicle

MERRIMAC, Wis. (WFRV) — A Wisconsin man is expected to face criminal charges after allegedly causing extensive damage to a vehicle and a residence.
According to the Sauk County Sheriff's Office, deputies were alerted early Wednesday morning by the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office to check the welfare of a male subject, reportedly traveling to the Merrimac area.

Sauk County deputies later located the man, identified as Roman Tomal IV, near the ferry landing in Merrimac. Authorities discovered that Tomal had intentionally submerged a vehicle in Lake Wisconsin.
Over the following days, the sheriff's office received multiple reports of property damage in the Merrimac area, all believed to be connected to Tomal.
Investigators also determined that Tomal forced entry into an unoccupied residence on Idlewild Road, caused extensive damage, and attempted to set the property on fire. During the incident, Tomal was reportedly armed with a shotgun, and the residence was struck by gunfire.

Authorities plan to file numerous charges against Tomal, including attempted arson to a dwelling, criminal damage to property, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
