FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) announced the graduation of its latest class of officers on Thursday. In a news release, FCPD said that Session 87 introduced 47 new officers to FCPD. Thirty-one of those officers are college graduates, and eight of them have military backgrounds. DMV native proposes to girlfriend, actress Selena Gomez Together, the 47 new officers know a total of 14 different languages, which FCPD said brings "a rich diversity of linguistic skills." These officers started their training in June of this year and graduated after a 26-week training academy including instruction about "the procedures, techniques, and principles of law enforcement, incident report writing, criminal law, traffic enforcement, and first aid," the release read. "FCPD is thrilled to welcome these exceptional individuals to our ranks. Their diverse backgrounds, skills, and experiences will undoubtedly contribute to our department’s continued excellence and the safety of our community," the release said.
